Situated between Beaune and Volnay, Pommard was once the land of the Dukes of Burgundy. Its southeast-facing clay-limestone slopes produce powerful, structured red wines of great character.
Les Argillières is a Premier Cru climat located in the north-east of the Pommard appellation. Situated on a slope just above the prestigious Grands Épenots climat, this vineyard rests on a red clay soil scattered with stones, underlain by hard limestone.
In its youth, the wine can appear reserved and restrained, but with a few years of ageing it reveals great finesse and remarkable aromatic precision. Its elegant, finely chiseled texture makes it a wine of character and complexity. Our parcel, planted in 2018, gives it depth and a unique expression of its terroir.
Our Pommard-Argillières reveals its full power and depth alongside sauced red meats or game. It elevates traditional Burgundian dishes such as coq au vin or boeuf bourguignon. Its structured character also complements strong cheeses like Époisses or Munster.
